Penetron Specialty Products Provides the Brightest Floor Overlays in Canada
The “Penetron Self-Leveling Topping Workshop” held on July 19, 2018, in Mississauga (Ontario), Canada, used hands-on evaluations to demonstrate the correct application procedures for RENEW WS, a quick-setting flooring overlay that can be polished to a glossy, durable and seamless shine.
Part of the Penetron Group of global companies, Penetron Specialty Products (PSP) develops and markets surface preparation and concrete restoration products. PSP material specialists host workshops with distributors and contractors across North America to ensure correct applications for a high level of product performance and durability.
For the Penetron Self-Leveling Topping Workshop, PSP welcomed approximately one dozen flooring contractors to the CTM Distribution headquarters in Mississauga for a one-day demonstration and training session. Concrete Treatment Materials (CTM) Distribution is a certified Penetron distributor for Eastern Canada that provides flooring preparation and overlay products and tools – and comprehensive technical support – to contractors across the region.
The Workshop participants focused on how to restore and renew distressed concrete floors with a quick-setting overlay that can be polished. The PSP overlayment product, RENEW WS, is a single-component, smooth-flowing, self-leveling overlay that is widely used as a restorative wearing surface on both damaged and intact horizonal concrete surfaces.
“We use our RENEW WS fast-setting overlay on distressed, worn or rain-damaged, but structurally sound concrete. When done correctly, the resulting finish can be easily polished to a high shine and is long-lasting and virtually maintenance-free,” adds Bob Baumeister, Technical Support Manager for PSP. “In fact, we get a lot of compliments from contractors and owners alike, who are endlessly impressed with just how bright and pure our Ultra White overlay turns out.”
Initially, the RENEW WS Gray and RENEW WS Ultra White overlayments were applied the day before the workshop to allow enough time to fully set. During the workshop, participants poured two more areas of both the RENEW WS Gray and RENEW WS Ultra White – to allow the attendees to work with the wet material. Finally, the hands-on work moved to the previously-cured material, where the process steps – including polishing, densifying and sealing – were carried out.
“The workshop was a very effective platform to demonstrate the Penetron products to our customers last month,” notes Tony Torriano, CEO and Co-Founder of CTM Distribution, the workshop host. “My team and I really appreciate the support and professionalism of the event!”
